WHO ARE WE?
Dlozi Ngwana Badimo is a South African brand established in 2020 during the lockdown period. Founder and CEO Nape Phasha describes it as a movement: a way to express and celebrate an identity that has long been demonised, through fashion.
Within its first month, Dlozi Ngwana Badimo had shipped to all nine provinces of South Africa. What began as a personal expression of family and heritage quickly connected with people across the country.
A family story that became a movement.

“I initially thought Dlozi Ngwana Badimo would be a family brand. I have always been known as ngwana badimo in Mohlaletse, Ga Sekhukhune, the small village where I was born and raised.
My late mother is the inspiration behind this movement. She was a traditional womb specialist. After struggling to conceive following her marriage, she underwent an initiation process. My three siblings and I were born after that experience. This is where my identification as ngwana badimo comes from: I am a child of the ancestors.
I printed a T-shirt for myself and posted a photograph on social media. People across South Africa connected with it. That same night, my inbox filled with messages from people asking for the exact same T-shirt.
That is how it all started. What began with one T-shirt became a movement, and we went on to ship across Africa.”
